What is Kombucha?

Kombucha is a living, unpasteurised, healthy drink created by fermenting tea and packed full of live cultures and goodness...

HOW WE MAKE IT

Authentically made

We make No.1 Kombucha the authentic way, using four simple ingredients: filtered water, organic green tea, organic cane sugar, and our ‘scoby’ (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast).

The fermentation process consumes the sugar and activates the friendly bacteria, yeasts and enzymes, making it rich in probiotics. We add fresh fruit juice and botanicals during fermentation to give it its delicious flavour.

The resulting tasty drink is lightly sparkling, free from artificial sweeteners and hidden nasties, and full of live cultures and goodness.

We brew it...

First we brew organic green tea with organic cane sugar (all kombucha is made with sugar, but it has an important job to do).

We ferment it...

We then put the tea into a fermentation vat and add our scoby. That is then brewed again for 7-10 days to create kombucha, containing live probiotics, organic acids and enzymes. Finally, we add real fruit juices and botanicals for flavour.

We bottle and chill it...

Once bottled the fermentation continues, so we deliver and serve our Kombucha chilled, so we don’t lose any of the goodness.
